Refer-a-Friend: Earn Rewards While Saving Lives
At San Diego Blood Bank, we believe that everyone can play a part in saving lives. This February, with our "Refer-a-Friend" program, it's easier and more rewarding than ever! We're calling on our incredible community of donors to help us reach new friends and family members who haven't yet discovered the joy and impact of blood donation.
Every day, about 350 blood donations are needed to meet the urgent needs of our hospital partners and the patients we serve. Your contributions are crucial in saving the lives of local patients who depend on these donations for their survival and recovery.

How the Refer-a-Friend Program Works
- Refer New Donors: Encourage friends or family who haven't donated with us before to give blood at one of our 10 donor centers.
- Earn Rewards: For each new donor you refer who donates, you'll receive a $25 reward as a token of our appreciation.
- Maximize Your Impact: You can earn up to $250 by referring 10 new donors. Plus, you have the option to donate your reward back toward SDBB’s Team Survivor program or our annual Volunteer Appreciation event.
Receiving Your Refer-a-Friend Rewards
 | After the person you referred completes their appointment, simply complete and submit the online form. Once confirmed, we'll send your reward via email. It's that easy! Your referrals are more than just numbers; they represent hope, health, and life for those in need. By extending your impact through the "Refer-a-Friend" program, you're not only contributing to our community's well-being but also encouraging a culture of giving and compassion. |

* Individuals must be 18 or older to participate and receive a reward. To qualify you for a reward, your referral cannot have donated with San Diego Blood Bank or Southern California Blood Bank within the last two (2) years and must make an appointment and present to donate at one of our fixed location donor centers. Eligible donors who present to donate but are unable to complete their donation due to deferral or screening will still qualify. To receive your reward, you must complete this online claim form after their appointment. Once confirmed, if you selected the Amazon or Mastercard e-gift card, you will receive your $25 e-gift card via email. If you opted to donate your $25 back to either our Team Survivor program or Volunteer Appreciation event, we will email you to confirm. If multiple individuals refer the same person, only the first referrer submitted when completing the online claim form will be rewarded. This promotional offer is limited to ten (10) referrals per individual. Offer ends 3/31/24.
